The San Francisco World Spirits Competition held its 13th annual competition at the Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, CA. The judging panels are comprised of spirits experts from noted restaurants and hotels, well-known spirits journalists from major national media, spirits buyers for large purveyors, and spirits consultants.

The San Francisco International Wine Competition, the largest, most influential international wine competition in America, is judged by a prestigious panel of nationally recognized wine experts. Judging is based on a blind, consensual procedure, ensuring competitive integrity as it remains the nation’s most respected wine competition.

The Long Beach Grand Cru Wine Competition and Awards & Tasting fund raising benefit was established in 1995. The Competition has grown in size and prestige attracting wineries from around the world. It has gone from a one-day competition to two days. Medals are awarded in the following categories: Sweepstakes, Best of Class, Gold, Silver and Bronze. The public wine tasting and culinary event attracts over 1,200 guests. These companion events were conceived to increase awareness and raise funds to support the Foundation’s legal services and education programs. The Long Beach Grand Cru Competition has made its mark as one of the best wine competitions in the United States.

The Central California Winegrowers forth annual Warm Weather Wine Competition! The Warm Weather Wine Competition brings together any and all wines either made from grapes grown, or vented in warm weather regions of California. These areas are being rediscovered for their climate and topography and the maturity which brings out the very best flavors of the grape. California prides itself on its Mediterranean climate, and we at the Central California Warm Weather Wine Competition believe the time has arrived to celebrate winemaking true to its ancient roots.

There were over 115 wines entered in the competition, which was held August 1, 2008. The competition showcased wines from across the Central Valley and other warm weather regions. The panel of professional judges were composed of winemakers, professionals, professors, restaurateurs, journalists, trade members, and serious wine collectors.
